Elena Britton
Clinical
Psychologist

Elena Britton is an experienced therapist specializing in trauma-informed interventions. She began practicing as a psychologist in 2019 and pursued further postgraduate study, completing a Master of Clinical Psychology in 2021. Elena enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds and presenting concerns.

In 2020, she completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a modality designed to help process difficult, stressful memories that often underlie maladaptive beliefs and coping mechanisms. This training further inspired her interest in other trauma-informed interventions, including Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) and Deep Brain Reorienting. She also incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) when indicated. In 2023, she completed Level 1 IFS training, an evidence-based, non-pathologizing psychotherapy approach.

Elena primarily specializes in working with adults seeking trauma-informed care. Her therapeutic approach goes beyond addressing current symptoms, aiming to foster awareness of how past experiences shape personality, nervous system responses, and self-perceptions. She recognizes that while certain coping strategies may have been useful in the past, they may no longer serve an individual's well-being. Through therapy, Elena helps clients process distressing memories, strengthen positive beliefs, and develop new, supportive ways of responding to life's challenges.
