CPD Workshop

The aim of this CPD workshop is to assist provisional and early career psychologists to understand the importance of ethical awareness and the use of the Ethical Decision Making Model to evaluate concerns and determine appropriate courses of action.


The training will include:

Session 1 – Introductions and Understanding the prevalence of types of ethical misconduct

Session 2 –Understanding the Ethical Decision Making Model

​

Session 3 – Mandatory reporting requirements

​

Session 4 – Becoming familiar with the Code of Ethics – Principle A – with a focus on:

Informed consent

Confidentiality

Release of information to clients, lawyer, under subpoena

​

Session 5 – Becoming familiar with the Code of Ethics – Principle B with a focus on:

Competence

Record keeping

Provision of psychological services at the request of a third party

Provision of psychological services to multiple clients

​

Session 6 – Becoming familiar with the Code of Ethics – Principle B (Continued) with a focus on:

Termination of psychological services

Psychological assessments

Delegations of professional tasks

​

Session 7 – Becoming familiar with the Code of Ethics – Principle C with a focus on:

Reputable behaviour

Communication

Conflict of interest

Non-exploitation and Financial arrangements

​

Session 8 – Five Moral Principles – Autonomy, Nonmaleficence, Beneficence, Justice, Fidelity
